UCO sophomore Baer Aneshansley made it all the way to the Oklahoma Golf Association State Amateur semi-finals.

However he could not quite cap the performance he had in the quarterfinals.

Aneshansley lost to the eventual champion Colton Staggs.

It was quite an uphill battle for the UCO standout. Baer started the 64 person tournament as the 56th seed.

In the first round, Aneshansley beat out Heath Myers from Oklahoma City winning 4 and 3.

After the tournament was narrowed down to 32, he was victorious winning 1 up against Liam Logan from OU.

In the round of 16, Baer won 6 and 5 against Zac Henderson to advance to the quarterfinals.

With another great showing, Aneshansley burst Trent Whitekiller’s bubble winning 2 up and advancing to the semi-finals.

With this tournament, Baer begins what will most likely be, a fantastic junior campaign. Baer took UCO golf by storm last season in his first two seasons with the Bronchos.

Baer posted a 74.2 average in the fall of 2008 and placed top 30 in every event.

Aneshansley earned a starting roll his freshman year through the spring season during the 2007-2008 campaign, finishing with a 74.6 shooting average.

Baer rejoins a UCO golf team that will return several state contenders and a squad that will once again chase a championship.
