Oh Adam Where Art Thou

Well if you recorded Tuesday nights Idol, you might have thought that we were down to the final seven already. DVR users missed the apparently spectacular performance of Adam Lambert. I am starting to think they run the show long on purpose to annoy those of us who skip right through the commercials.

Adam Lambert sung an old 80’s song—“Mad World”. I’ve never been a huge fan of his, but apparently Simon Cowel is after tonight. Get your coat ladies and gentlemen—hell has officially frozen over.
Simon not only complimented the performance, he gave it a standing ovation. If that’s what it takes to get a standing ovation, next week we will be seeing Anoop wearing eyeliner and doing a slightly suicidal version of a long forgotten song.
Maybe I got it wrong—early front runner Lil Rounds is starting to backslide. The judges were less than impressed with her “second or third rate Tina Turner” performance.
Lil, you need to step it up so I can be right about Idol’s top five this season. Oh wait, that was already shot down by Scott getting the boot on Wednesdays show.
The judges were split two for two over whether or not to use the judge's save. I bet it was Simon and Randy who said no, and the sympathetic girls who said yes. Either way, I was secretly rooting for him to stay so I could fight of the embarrassment of getting the top five wrong.
I do have good news for all you Alison fans out there—she was not in the bottom three after she rocked her performance this week.
Now it’s time for a new feature: this is where I’m going to predict next week’s cast off. It better be Anoop, or I’m going to quit and go cover fluff stories—fluffier than this anyway.
Maybe Idol producers have learned their lesson this week. When in doubt, just cut Paula off so they show doesn’t run long. After all, Simon has been doing it for years. Maybe there is a few things left to learn from him.
