OU won't make the final 4
3/29/09 9:55 PM
despite a double digit outing from Griffin, OU faltered against North Carolina tonight, losing 72-60.
Of course, I never thought they would make the final four, not with Syracuse then NC in a row. That is a tough stretch.
I am however, impressed with the Sooners.
Congrats on a great season.
If the NHL playoffs ended today...

Who would be the favorites?
http://www.nhl.com/standings/playoffmatchup20082009.html
Those are the current matchups. Although the season is still in full swing. Who is my pick?
I am definetly considering posting an article about the NHL playoffs closer to the time, but who do I pick now?
I can see the Fliers being a dark horse in the East. But I pick the red wings to win it all at the moment.
Dont count my sabres out yet, they are still in contention to get into the playoffs!
UCO Hockey loses to Illinois in first round
3/19/09 8:32 PM
UCO Hockey has only been around for 3 short years. Craig McAlister is said to have a 4 year plan. YEAR 1: Be competitive (Check) YEAR 2: Almost Make the Championship Tournament (Check) YEAR 3: Make the Tournament... (Check) YEAR 4: Win it all (??????) This year I had the honor to travel with the team (all 20 hours to Ohio and all 20 hours back...) to broadcast some of the games, including theirs. Sadly, UCO fell to the University of Illinois in the first round 4-1. But to be honest, it was closer than that. I won't go into detail in the blog, but let's just say that I know that we could have and should have won the game but just didn't. I know the guys would take it back if they could. But here's the zinger. They still walked out of the rink winners. I wouldn't be suprised if they...CUTLER IS A BIG BABY

The NFL is a business. NO player, I repeat, NO player is untradeable. He needs to shut up and come to work just like the rest of the players in the league. If this situation continues to boil I may be tempted to write a column expressing my disgust of it all.
here is the story as reported by ESPN. Apparently Cutler overheard his name mentioned in trade talks this past week and now him and the head coach are "drifting apart". McDaniels may not be handling it right, but Cutler needs to realize he is very tradeable.

Terrell Owens is a Buffalo Bill...
3/8/09 8:38 PM
WOW. Can I wake up now? Or am I stuck in a dream. Here is a little bit of a Tim Graham article from ESPN that I think explains why I am very excited. "Terrell Owens and Lee Evans will give the Bills their most dangerous one-two receiving threat since Andre Reed and James Lofton played together in the early 1990s." http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afceast/0-6-39/Owens--Evans-a-double-threat-for-Bills.html Makes me giddy all over!...Both men and women fall short in LSC races
3/8/09 8:34 PM
The men lost in the semi-finals to Southwestern and the girls lost the finals to West Texas A&M.
sad day.
Lizzie Brenner you've done it again!

22 points and 11 rebounds 4 blocked shots just for show.
Her performance kept the 12th ranked UCO Bronchos alive in the LSC tournament last night as they beat Tarleton State 66-63 in a comeback win.
Congrats Bronchos!

Does Cassel Make KC Contenders?
3/2/09 10:36 PM
I won't give it all away, you'll just have to come to thevistaonline.com on Thursday but here is a nice little tidbit... Did the Patriots just do what I think they did? They franchised Cassel, and then sent the rising star to Kansas City along with Mike Vrabel, for a second round pick. I guess all along it was ex-patriot personnel director and current Chief’s general manager, Scott Pioli who made all the smart decisions in New England. He metaphorically and literally stole the future of his new franchise from his old franchise. Matt Cassel came in to play in relief of the injured Tom Brady last season. Cassel played very well for seventh round rookie who hadn’t played in a...Thunder Beat Dallas

96-87. Great game. Even without Kevin Durant or Jeff Green!
This gives me hope for the future of this franchise.
I wonder if Scott Brooks is our coach next year...
